The Little Grass Shack
Episode 402:

As the foundation work begins, James meets with geoanalyst Paul Weidig from Weidig Geoanalysts to learn about the conditions of the project’s underlying soil, the landslide that affected the area, and what can be done to ensure the new home will not slide in the future.

35 feet below the surface of the finished garage apron, Scott Patton from Structural Systems is starting the “pinning” process. He explains the process and the different components used to install the mico-piles that will secure the grade beams to the bluestone some 40 feet below the surface.

Later, James returns to the site to find Homeworks’ Jason Sztuba, hard at work building the forms in preparation for the pouring of the concrete. He discusses the different rebar sizes used to build the grade beam cage and how it is cut and attached
